I'm Sam Anderson, a live percussionist based near Kortrijk, Belgium. I play djembe and digital percussion alongside the DJ at weddings, corporate events and any party where the dance floor needs to come alive.

Sam Anderson is a Belgian live percussionist who plays djembe and digital percussion with DJ sets at weddings, corporate events and Ibiza nights.
I was 15 when I first heard a djembe cutting through the beats at a techno party. That rhythm never let go of me. More than 18 years later, I play live percussion with DJs all over Belgium: weddings, staff parties, birthdays, clubs, beach bars and festivals.
My blue LED djembe is the eye-catcher of every night. Alongside it I play digital percussion on the Roland HandSonic and Roland SPD-SX Pro: congas, bongos, timbales and drums that fit any music style. I listen to the DJ, read the dance floor and respond. Sometimes subtle under a groove, sometimes full force on the drop.
Since 2022 I have played more than 250 shows, from Kasteel Blauwhuis and Casino Knokke to Salito Beach and Lokerse Feesten. I bring all my own gear: djembe, drum pads, stands, in-ear monitors and wireless receivers. The organiser only needs to provide power.

After an optional deposit via Mollie, your date is locked in. I coordinate with your DJ and the venue. My rider is sent automatically.

What does a live percussionist add to a DJ set?
A live percussionist plays rhythms and accents on top of the DJ's music. I follow the build of every track and add energy at the moments that matter. Guests also see the music being made, which draws them onto the floor. Read more on DJ with live percussion.
Can you play alongside our own DJ?
Yes, most of my bookings are with the DJ the client has already chosen. I contact them beforehand to agree on music style, timing and connections. If you don't have a DJ yet, I can suggest one from my network.
Is a djembe the same as a tom-tom?
No. A djembe is a goblet-shaped hand drum from West Africa, played with bare hands. A tom-tom is a drum from a drum kit, played with sticks. The djembe has a very wide sound, from deep bass to sharp slaps. Mine also has blue LED lighting.
How long do you perform?
I'm on site for 60, 90 or 120 minutes depending on the package, and you can extend by the hour. I play in sets that we plan around the flow of your evening, so the percussion lands at the best moments.
Where do you perform?
I travel from Kortrijk and play all over Belgium: Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia. I'm also available in northern France (Lille is 30 minutes away), the Netherlands and for destination weddings. The first 100 km are included. See also international bookings.
What does the venue need to provide?
Only power. I bring the djembe, drum pads, stands, in-ears, wireless microphones and cables myself. The digital percussion runs through the DJ's mixer. All details are on the technical rider page.
