In and around Ghent I have played seven times since 2023, with a wedding already booked for 2027.
In Ghent itself I have played a wedding at Kasteel van Zwijnaarde and a birthday party at the Oude Vismijn, right in the historic centre. Around the city I played a wedding at Hof ten Bosse in Destelbergen, two nights at O'Douce in Eke, a birthday in Merelbeke and the Fifi Markt in Aalter.
Ghent is a city of young couples, international companies and a strong nightlife culture. Live percussion fits right in: as the eye-catcher at a wedding, as an icebreaker at a company party or as an extra layer on an afro house night. From Kortrijk I am there in about 40 minutes, travel included.

Castles, farmhouses and historic halls
The Ghent area has a wide choice of wedding venues: castles and castle farms on the edge of the city, historic halls in the centre and rural estates along the Leie in Sint-Martens-Latem and Deinze. These are venues where a DJ lays the foundation and a live act gives the night its own character.
At historic venues in the city centre there are often strict rules on volume and finishing time. Digital percussion through the DJ mixer is a good choice there. See also reception and party.
Planning live percussion at a Ghent wedding
Around Ghent, many couples choose an afternoon drinks reception and a party that runs late. Live percussion then fits in at two moments: briefly during the drinks, among the guests, and at the party with the DJ. A popular moment is the start of the party, right after the first dance.

Can you play at a historic venue in central Ghent?
Yes, I have played at the Oude Vismijn. Historic halls often have their own rules on sound and finishing time. Check them in advance; with digital percussion through the DJ mixer I stay within the agreed volume.
What sound limits apply in Ghent venues?
The same basic limits apply throughout Flanders, usually 85 dB(A) averaged over 60 minutes indoors, or higher with logging. Ask your venue which limit applies.
How far is Ghent from Kortrijk?
About 40 minutes by car. That is within the first 100 km, so travel is included.
Can you play a birthday party in Ghent?
Yes. I have played birthday parties at the Oude Vismijn and in Merelbeke. With the Solo package I play for 60 minutes, roaming among the guests. More on birthday and private party.
