Technical
Technical rider for the PA system and the sound technician, for djembé and digital percussion.
- Transmitters and receivers
- Sennheiser EW-D SK Base (wireless microphone for the djembé)
- Sennheiser in-ear monitor transmitter (or yours)
- I do not bring external antennas. If the receivers are far from the playing area, please provide them.
- Instruments
- Djembé (wireless)
- Roland HandSonic (mono or stereo jack out)
- Roland SPD-SX Pro (mono or stereo jack out)
- PA configuration for in-ears
In my in-ears I would like to hear:
- the music from the DJ;
- my djembé and digital pads;
- the sound of any other performing artists.
DJs and artists decide for themselves whether they want to hear me in their monitor. Usually the DJ does not want the djembé in his monitor.
- Power and space
- 2 power sockets for the transmitters
- 3 power sockets in the playing area for the digital percussion
- 4 Duracell AA batteries, or another quality brand, as a backup
- 0.5 m x 0.5 m of free space near the DJ booth for the wireless receivers (open and pointed towards the crowd)
- 2 m x 2 m secured playing area, free from the crowd, for the digital drum pads and stands
- Sound limiters
Please note: sound limiters can mute or cut the music when I hit the djembé or the drum pad. Please adjust or switch off the limiter in advance.
- Mix for the crowd
Minimal reverb on the djembé. The sound should sit nicely in the mix: not too quiet and not too loud. The crowd should notice the extra instrument without it being distracting.
Please monitor the sound throughout the performance.
- Staging
Dry, covered and on a stable platform, safely away from the audience. With free space in front of the DJ booth and within range of the wireless receivers (25 m).
